Once you find your dream home [or one that’s not far off], you need to get organised as moving day approaches. Tips include:-
Getting to know the area – Research your new environment, by finding out where for example your local train station or bus stop is. Are there local shops and supermarkets? Don’t forget a doctors surgery or a dentists.
Sort Utilities – Electricity, gas, phone, internet and TV need sorting ahead of a move so you feel right at home.
Insurance check – Look online for a good insurance provider to insure your home contents. You should also inform your car insurance company about your change of address. Your premium may of course go up or down after this step.
Budget – Set a budget to cover your moving expenses, and ensure you have available funds for the one-off and ongoing costs.
Choose a Removals Company – Find a trustworthy removals company, book and pay in advance, or else hire a van, and ask friends and family to assist with your move.
Organise Bills/tie up loose ends – It’s wise to pay off any existing bills before moving, and also cancel or adjust any memberships you have to local clubs or the gym.
De-Clutter – You don’t want the hassle of taking unwanted items with you, so start sorting out SAP.
Redirect your mail – Tell important places or organisations that you are moving and give them your new address. These include the DVLA, your bank and work etc.
Inform everybody – Make sure all of your friends and family know your actual moving date.
Billericay Removals are a reliable and affordable removals company who can also provide storage if needed, along with excellent customer service. They have regular, attractive offers available to lower the cost of your move.
Referral Reward – Customers of Billericay Removals who recommend others, will receive a £50 cheque if the new customer books their service, and lets the company know who referred them.
Half Price Containers – 6 storage containers are the norm, and are charged at £12.50 per container per week. Where more than 6 are hired, the rate falls to just £6 per container, which is less than half price.
